LEAMINGTON have confirmed the departure of midfielder Will Shorrock ahead of a life-changing move to Brazil.

Shorrock made his 80th and final appearance for the Brakes from the bench against Marine last weekend.

The 26-year-old scored six goals during his time with the club and helped the Brakes achieve promotion back to the National League North in 2023/24.

He also played his part as Leamington achieved their highest-ever points tally at Step Two last season.

Shorrock has opted to leave the country for a new life with his partner in Brazil bringing his time with the Brakes to an end.

Shorrock said: “I just want to say thank you to the fans, the staff, the players and all involved at the club.

“I felt welcomed from the minute I arrived and we achieved great things together with the play-off winning season and record number of points last season.

“Special thanks to the gaffer and my teammates who have supported me. We’ve created a good bond together. I will always be following the results.”

Brakes boss, Paul Holleran added: “We’ve had a great journey with Will, on and off the pitch. He’s having a bit of a change of scenery in his life.

“He’s off to Brazil, to set up with his partner. It’s something completely different, but he’s been great for us on and off the pitch.

“He’s a great lad, great to manage and is so flexible, which has been great for me.

“I remember last season when we were in a bit of a hole, we had some tough games and he dropped in at right back for Dan Meredith for five or six games and won three man of the match awards.

“He’s such a good professional, so I think if Dan gets injured we’ll have to fly him back from Brazil.

“Another good one we’ve had here for a few years – he’s worn the shirt brilliantly, and sadly he’s another good one we’ve lost.

“We wish Will all the best. We’ve had a great journey with him. He’ll be sorely missed.

“I’ve managed some great players, and he’s right up there with my favourite players, so yeah, I will miss him.”
