LEAMINGTON returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against South Shields as captain Adam Walker marked his 150th appearance for the club in style.

First-half goals from George Ward and Tim Berridge earned the points for the Brakes on Non-League Day at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.

The result means Leamington sit 13th in the National League North table.

Paul Holleran’s side broke the deadlock on 20 minutes when Ward headed in Rob Evans’ long throw from the left at the near post.

And Berridge doubled the home side’s lead four minutes before half time with an emphatic finish into the top left corner from Henry Landers’ pass.

Leamington are next in action against Alfreton Town on Tuesday, March 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Impact Arena.
