LEAMINGTON recorded a dominant 5-0 victory against Warwickshire rivals Rugby Town in the second round of the Birmingham Senior Cup.
Both Cally Stewart and Tyrone Barnett scored twice with Henry Landers also on target as the Brakes cruised into the next round at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
And the home side took the lead after just seven minutes when Stewart’s shot from distance squirmed under Valley goalkeeper Nykah Liburd-Hines.
The Brakes doubled their lead on 33 minutes as Landers finished from close range following a mesmerising run from Jiah Medrano.
And Leamington settled the game as a contest four minutes later as Stewart finished on the rebound after Liburd-Hines kept out a header moments earlier.
Paul Holleran’s side stretched their lead in the second half on 62 minutes when veteran striker Barnett scrambled the ball home from close range.
And Barnett completed the scoring on 76 minutes, heading home a cross from the left, as the Brakes comfortably secured a place in the next round of the competition.
Leamington are next in action at home to Redditch United on Saturday, November 25 with kick-off at 3pm at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
