LEAMINGTON reached the semi-finals of the Birmingham Senior Cup with a comprehensive 6-0 thrashing of lower-division Coleshill Town.

A hat-trick from former Coleshill player Max Brogan inspired the Brakes to victory while Tyrone Lewthwaite netted a brace and Dan Meredith also found the net at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.

Leamington will make the trip to Hednesford Town in the semi-finals of the competition.

The Brakes broke the deadlock on 20 minutes when Lewthwaite finished into an empty net after he intercepted a stray pass from Coleshill’s goalkeeper Cam Belford.

And Leamington doubled their lead nine minutes later as Brogan won and converted a penalty to put the home side in command.

Scott Easterlow’s side all but sealed their place in the last four on 33 minutes when Meredith found the net after Belford kept out Frank Tattum’s initial effort.

And the Brakes added a fourth goal six minutes later as Lewthwaite guided a header into the net to score his second of the game.

Leamington added a fifth goal after the break on 52 minutes when Brogan drove past two defenders and rifled a shot into the net.

And Brogan completed his hat-trick two minutes later as he sidestepped a challenge and drove a low effort past Belford.

Leamington are next in action against Bedford Town on Friday, April 3 with kick-off at 3pm at the New Eyrie.
