TIM Berridge scored an injury-time winner as Leamington beat Curzon Ashton 2-1 to end a run of 17 league games without a victory.
Berridge struck four minutes into injury time after Max Brogan’s first goal for the club had opened the scoring at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
Curzon equalised late on through James Spencer, only for Berridge to score a dramatic injury-time winner as the Brakes claimed a first league victory since September.
Despite the win, Leamington remain bottom of the National League North table, 10 points from safety but with three games in hand on the side immediately above the relegation zone.
The Brakes broke the deadlock on the stroke of half time as Brogan won possession deep inside his own half and drove towards the Curzon goal before cutting the ball onto his left foot and firing a shot into the bottom right corner from 25-yards out.
However, the visitors drew level on 79 minutes when a cross from the left broke to Spencer in the box and the striker controlled the ball on his chest before lashing a shot past Rogan Ravenhill from close range.
The home side snatched the points deep into injury time when Adam Walker slipped in Berridge who saw his shot deflect off Adam Barton and past the goalkeeper at the near post.
Leamington are next in action against King’s Lynn Town on Tuesday, January 27 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
