ANTHONY Lynn scored the only goal as Leamington secured their first away win of the season with a 1-0 victory at Farsley Celtic.
Lynn struck on 68 minutes to settle the game which took place at Alfreton Town’s Impact Arena due to ongoing pitch works at Farsley’s Citadel home.
And the result means Leamington sit 16th in the National League North table.
The first chance of the game fell to Joe Doyle-Charles who fired narrowly over the crossbar for Leamington while Callum Hawkins comfortably saved Bailey Sloane’s driven effort at the other end.
Hawkins reacted well to keep out Darren Stephenson’s powerful strike soon after as the latter pounced on a slip just inside the penalty area.
Farsley goalkeeper Tom Wooster then saved George Ward’s header before DJ Campton-Sturridge fired a fierce volley just over the bar for the home side.
The hosts went close again as Hawkins helped Dan Greenfield’s well-struck free-kick over the bar.
The Brakes looked to make a fast start in the second half as Wooster denied both Henry Landers and Cally Stewart in quick succession.
However, substitute Lynn made an immediate impact as he sent a bullet header past Wooster with virtually his first touch from Landers’ cross.
Farsley went in search of an equaliser as Greenfield volleyed just over before Hawkins superbly kept out substitute Sam Fielding’s powerful long range effort.
Leamington are next in action against Oxford City on Tuesday, September 24 with kick-off at 3pm at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
