LEAMINGTON won on the road for just the second time this season following a 2-1 victory away at Southport.
The Brakes stunned the home side with two goals in the opening 10 minutes as Max Brogan and Miro Pais both found the net early on at Haig Avenue.
Southport halved the deficit through Chris Sze while Luke Griffiths saw red for the home side late on as the Brakes returned to winning ways.
With the Brakes already relegated and confined to the bottom of the National League North table, Scott Easterlow’s side moved onto 29 points for the season with the victory.
The visitors made a blistering start and took the lead after just six minutes when Brogan powered a shot into the top corner from distance past a helpless George Pickford.
And the Brakes doubled their lead just two minutes later as Pais produced a clam finish past Pickford to score his first goal since the opening day of the season.
However, Southport halved the deficit on 32 minutes when Sze flicked home Malakai McKenzie’s pull back from the right at the near post.
The Brakes held firm thereafter while the home side finished the game with 10-men after Griffiths received a second yellow card six minutes from time for a foul on Brogan.
Leamington are next in action against Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday, April 18 with kick-off at 3pm at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
