LEAMINGTON have signed young goalkeeper Eddie Brearey following his release from Oxford United.
Brearey will replace Callum Hawkins between the sticks at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium after the latter completed a move to Curzon Ashton.
The 21-year-old has made more than 100 appearances in non-league football following loan spells with St Ives Town, Hungerford Town, Thame United, Evesham United and Beaconsfield Town.
Brakes boss, Paul Holleran said: “We were aware towards the end of last season that we would have to find a new number one, and Eddie fits the criteria of what we wanted – he ticked all the boxes.
“He is a good age, and has had a good upbringing at Oxford United, with the benefit of playing lots of first team games at non league level.
“We hope that he has a happy and successful time here at Leamington, and we are looking forward to working with him.”
Brearey added: “I’m buzzing to have signed for the club, and I’m looking forward to playing for Leamington.
“After a bit of a break in the off-season, I’m excited for pre-season with the team, setting us up to put on some great performances for the fans.”
Brearey joined Oxford at the age of nine years-old and earned his first professional contract with the club when still a teenager.
