LEAMINGTON suffered a fifth straight defeat in the league after losing 2-1 at home against Worksop Town.
The Brakes saw their winless run in the league stretch to 12 matches as Hamza Bencherif’s goal proved decisive at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
That came after Vaughan Redford put the visitors ahead only for Seb Thompson to draw the home side level on the stroke of half time.
And the result leaves Leamington seven points adrift of safety at the bottom of the National League North table.
Worksop broke the deadlock on 23 minutes when the Brakes failed to clear their lines and Redford finished unmarked at the back post from close range.
The home side drew level in style moments before the break as Thompson embarked on a mazy run before drilling a shot into the bottom left corner from 12-yards out.
However, Worksop reclaimed the lead two minutes after half time when Bencherif stabbed the ball home from point-blank range following a corner from the left.
Leamington host AFC Telford United on Tuesday, December 9 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
