LEAMINGTON suffered a sixth successive defeat after the Brakes lost 2-0 away at Worksop Town in a further blow to the club’s slim survival hopes.
Goals from Sam Sanders and Josh Wilde either side of half time condemned the Brakes to defeat at Sandy Lane.
The result leaves Leamington rooted to the bottom of the National League North table with Chris Knott’s side 16 points from safety.
Worksop broke the deadlock on 24 minutes when Sanders drove a low shot across Brakes goalkeeper Eddie Brearey and into the net.
And the home side doubled their lead after the break on 71 minutes as Wilde’s first time volley flew into the top corner after the visitors failed to properly clear their lines.
Leamington travel to AFC Telford United on Tuesday, March 3 with kick-off at 7.45pm at New Bucks Head.
