FOOTBALL - Leamington to pay tribute to late Queen Elizabeth II at Tuesday night home fixture

LEAMINGTON FC have asked supporters to arrive 10 minutes early to their home fixture on Tuesday as the club prepares to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Football at every level of the pyramid was postponed last weekend, in light of the Queen’s death, and returns from today (Monday, September 12).

Leamington host Kettering Town in the National League North on Tuesday, September 13 with a series of tributes lined up to honour the late Queen.

Players will wear black armbands, a minute’s silence will be held prior to kick-off and a limited edition programme will be produced to commemorate the late Queen’s life with pages dedicated to her visits to Royal Leamington Spa.

The club have requested that fans arrive at least 10 minutes before kick-off (7.35pm) with the bar set to close at this time until after the game has started.

This will allow bar staff to stand pitchside and pay their respects along with turnstile volunteers.

Leamington’s clash with Kettering kicks-off at 7.45pm at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
