MAX McNulty scored a brace in vain as Racing Club Warwick suffered a 4-2 defeat at home against play-off chasing Darlaston Town.
McNulty came off the bench to net twice in the second half, after Darlaston raced into a three-goal lead at the break, only for the visitors to seal the points late on at Townsend Meadow.
The result means Racing sit 11th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.
Darlaston broke the deadlock on 12 minutes when Mitch Botfield swept Alexander Foreshaw’s initial shot into the corner of the goal from six-yards out.
And the visitors doubled their lead on 21 minutes as the Racers failed to cut out a cross from the left and Kieran Cook lashed a low shot past Sam Lomax at the back post.
The away side won a penalty later in the first half when Ruben Freeman fouled Aaron Bishop in the box after Lomax denied the striker when one-on-one.
However, Lomax superbly denied Cook from the spot, diving to his left, as the Racers scrambled the ball to safety.
Darlaston stretched their lead on the stroke of half time when Bishop finished from close range after exchanging passes with Rivel Mardenborough down the left.
The home side cut the deficit one minute after the break as substitute McNulty smashed the ball into the net from close range after Stan Amos could only push Andre Williams’ initial header onto the crossbar.
And McNulty then looped a header over Amos into the bottom right corner of the goal on 71 minutes from James Hancocks’ cross from the left.
However, Darlaston restored their two-goal cushion four minutes later as Bishop a drilled a powerful shot past Lomax at his near post from 15-yards out.
Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Hinckley LRFC on Saturday, February 8 with kick-off at 3pm at Leicester Road Stadium.
