LEAMINGTON have confirmed that Mark Edwards, father of Brakes player Jack, has joined the club’s board of directors.

Mark’s association with the club began when he started watching his son Jack in Leamington colours 11-years ago.

He spent 41 years working for Lloyds Bank PLC in the financial and commercial sector where he held the position of commercial business development director for the Midlands and more recently worked as a commercial consultant.

Mark said: “I am excited to join the board of directors and am committed to playing a big part in the club’s progress towards continued success and the new stadium development.”

Leamington chairman, Jim Scott, added: “Mark will perform the role of business development director.

“We had been looking for some time for an individual who had strong business connections in the region to aid our commercial development allied to a drive and determination to support the clubs continued development and we are delighted to have Mark on board.”

Mark played football at a semi-professional level for Redditch United, Nuneaton Borough and Coventry Sporting before a serious knee injury brought his career to a halt at the age of 25-years-old.

He then spent eight years managing Stratford Town’s youth team.
