RACING Club Warwick cruised to a 7-0 win against basement club Market Drayton Town as Kory Burke, Cameron Ebbutt and Charlie Jones all scored twice to extend Racing’s unbeaten run to 12 matches.

The Racers were at their very best to dispatch bottom of the table Market Drayton as Burke, Ebbutt, Jones and a further strike from James Hancocks sealed a comprehensive victory at Townsned Meadow.

And the result means the Racers sit second in the Midland Football League Premier Division table, eight points behind Walsall Wood who have a game in hand.

Despite the final scoreline, Market Drayton spurned a golden chance to take the lead when Harlan Rodgers-Morris latched onto Archie Hamp’s short back pass only for Callum Parker to make a crucial stop with his legs.

This sparked Racing into life as Harry White headed narrowly wide before Callum Scott was fouled in the box and Burke converted the resulting penalty to put Warwick into the lead.

And the home side doubled their lead on 25 minutes when Hancocks slotted home after he combined well with White.

The Racers all but sealed the points on 39 minutes when Ebbutt scored a superbly taken goal from Burke’s smart header.

Home goalkeeper Dan Crane made a fine save to deny Market Drayton a route back into the game before Burke headed in his second of the game on the stroke of half time from Jones’s chipped cross.

Warwick increased their lead after the break as Ebbutt produced a sublime chip over the keeper from 40-yards out to net his second of the afternoon in spectacular fashion.

And there was still time for Jones to score two goals of his own as he swept home Warwick’s sixth goal before he slammed the ball in after neat control to complete the rout.

Racing are next in action away at Lye Town on Saturday, March 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the Sports Ground.
