RACING Club Warwick made it 10 games unbeaten after the Racers were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow promotion hopefuls Shifnal Town.
Josh Parsons put Warwick ahead early in the second half only for Lewis Jarman to equalise for Shifnal late on as the spoils were shared at the Acoustafoam Stadium.
The result means Warwick remain second in the Midland Football League Premier Division table, seven points behind leaders Walsall Wood who have two games in hand.
Archie Hamp returned to the side after missing the last game through illness whilst Colin Smith was named on the bench to bolster Warwick’s options in attack.
The first-half proved to be a cagey affair with chances at a premium as James Hancocks had a long range effort well saved before Parsons volleyed over following a well-worked move.
However, Racing broke the deadlock early in the second period when Parsons finished Callum Rudd’s long throw to add to his goal tally for the season.
And the visitors went close to a second soon after as another long throw from Rudd was headed against the post.
Shifnal drew level on 75 minutes when Lewis Jarman prodded home from five-yards out to set up a grandstand finish.
And only a superb reflex save from Warwick goalkeeper Dan Crane ensured Racing came away with a point.
Warwick are next in action at home to Studley on Saturday, February 25 with kick-off at 3pm at Townsend Meadow.
