RACING Club Warwick brought an end to their four-game winless run in the league with an impressive 3-1 victory away at promotion-chasing Long Eaton United.

An early goal from Cameron Ebbutt put the Racers ahead only for Tristan Thompson Matthews to draw the home side level at Grange Park.

However, Max McNulty’s penalty put Warwick back in front before Archie Hamp sealed the points for the visitors in injury time.

The result means the Racers sit 10th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.

Warwick made the perfect start as Ebbutt volleyed home into an empty net after Long Eaton failed to deal with an initial corner from the right with the game just four minutes old.

Long Eaton equalised on 29 minutes when Thompson Matthews turned home a cross from the left at the back post from close range.

However, the Racers reclaimed the lead three minutes before half time as McNulty sent Lewis King the wrong way from the penalty spot.

And the visitors made sure of the points two minutes into injury time when Hamp finished Josh Flynn’s cutback into an empty net from six-yards out.

Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Worcester City on Saturday, April 12 with kick-off at 3pm at Townsend Meadow.
