RACING Club Warwick secured a come-from-behind 2-1 victory against Sutton Coldfield Town to stretch their unbeaten run to six games.

Goals from Hisham Chiha and James Harding turned the game in Warwick’s favour after James McGrady put Sutton ahead from the penalty spot at Coles Lane.

The result means the Racers sit seventh in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, four points outside of the play-off places.

Racing went close early on as Harding blazed an effort over the bar following a scramble in the penalty area.

At the other end, Warwick defender Jasper Tetlow superbly glanced Ayomide Lekuti’s powerful effort over the crossbar for a corner.

The home side continued to threaten as Jack Lynch sent a swerving effort narrowly over the crossbar before McGrady curled a shot inches past the post.

However, Sutton eventually broke the deadlock on 41 minutes when McGrady scored from the penalty spot after Tom Allsopp flattened Lekuti in the box when attempting to clear his lines.

The Racers equalised one minute after half time as Chiha showed nimble feet in the box to create space for a shot as he curled an effort into the bottom left corner from the right-hand edge of the penalty area.

And Warwick completed the turnaround on 75 minutes with Harding on hand to finish from close range after Kyle Barnett prodded a free-kick across the face of goal.

Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Shepshed Dynamo on Saturday, April 4 with kick-off at 3pm at Townsend Meadow.
