RACING Club Warwick earned a hard-fought point in a goalless draw away at play-off chasing Belper Town.
The Racers have now failed to score in their last three matches following the stalemate at the Raygar Stadium and have not won any of their last seven games.
And the result means the Racers sit 11th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, nine points outside of the play-off places.
The visitors spurned an early chance as Aaron Opoku saw his goalbound effort from close range blocked by Louis Keenan after Reece Blackmore floated a free-kick into the box.
Belper responded with a chance at the other end when Tom Allsopp tipped Jacob Gratton’s shot from 25-yards out around the post.
And the home side went close again as Liam Moran looped a header onto the roof of the net following a cross into the box from the right.
Warwick almost broke the deadlock from a corner later in the first half as the ball bounced around the Belper box before Opoku saw his acrobatic effort go wide of the post.
And Archie Hamp then fired wide from 15-yards out after Jordan Hayward burst down the left and picked out the forward in the box.
Belper went close from a corner of their own after the break as Allsopp reacted sharply to keep out Luke Shaw’s strike at the back post.
The Racers had one final chance to break the deadlock when Hamp looked to pounce on Keenan’s weak backwards header but could only shoot straight at Kieran Preston as he attempted to lob the Belper goalkeeper.
Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Wellingborough Town on Saturday, March 14 with kick-off at 3pm at Townsend Meadow.
