RACING Club Warwick saw their winless run stretch to five matches following a goalless draw against Lichfield City.
The Racers lost ground on their play-off rivals after slipping to a second successive draw at Townsend Meadow.
And the result means Warwick sit eighth in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, four points outside the play-off places.
The Racers created the game’s first meaningful chance as James Harding nodded the ball into the path of Archie Hamp who saw his effort blocked by Lichfield captain Leighton McMenemy.
And McMenemy then went close at the other end as he looped a header narrowly over the crossbar following some head tennis in the box.
The Lichfield captain tried his luck again soon after as he rose highest to meet a corner from the right but could only head the ball wide of the post.
Lichfield came within inches of taking the lead before the break when Jack Edwards saw his effort from 25-yards out come back off the woodwork with Tom Allsopp beaten.
The visitors remained in the ascendancy after the interval as Edwards cut in from the left and curled a shot over the crossbar.
Warwick almost snatched the points when a low cross into the box just evaded Aaron Opoku and Ryan Andrews as Lichfield goalkeeper Brendon Bunn came with the ball.
And another chance went begging for the home side as substitute Connor Taylor headed over the bar at the back post from inside the six-yard box when left unmarked.
Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Corby Town on Saturday, February 21 with kick-off at 3pm at Steel Park.
