RACING Club Warwick missed the chance to win a first-ever Birmingham Senior Cup after losing 9-0 in the final to a young Aston Villa side.

Warwick headed to Villa Park off the back of securing promotion from the United Counties League Premier Division South via the play-offs.

However, the Racers proved no match for Villa’s young stars who romped to the biggest-ever margin of victory in a Birmingham Senior Cup final since the competition began in 1876/77.

A pair of quickfire goals put Villa in command as Omari Kellyman and Aidan Borland both netted in the space of two minutes.

And Kaden Young struck either side of half time to all but settle the tie before Kobei Moore drilled home Villa’s fifth.

The goals continued to flow as Kyrie Pierre made it six and Rico Richards bagged a brace to stretch Villa’s lead.

Moore completed the scoring from the penalty spot in injury time on a tough night for the Racers who took more than 800 supporters with them to Villa Park.

Warwick beat Dudley Town, Solihull Moors, Birmingham City, Darlaston Town and Leamington en route to the final.
