RACING Club Warwick came from behind to beat Bedworth United 4-2 despite playing with 10-men for the final half-hour.

The Racers took an early lead courtesy of Louis Monaghan’s header only for Bedworth to complete the turnaround with goals either side of half time at Townsend Meadow.

However, Archie Hamp drew the home side level just past the hour mark before Josh Willis saw red moments later.

Despite playing with a man less, Callum Coyle put the Racers ahead before the same player scored from the penalty spot in injury time to seal the points.

And the result means Warwick sit 11th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, seven points outside of the play-off places.

The Racers broke the deadlock on 13 minutes when Monaghan headed in James Hancocks’ corner from the right at the back post from close range.

However, Bedworth drew level on 22 minutes as Sam Lomax could only parry Desean Martin’s shot into the path of Liam Murphy who fired home the rebound from eight-yards out.

And the visitors took the lead four minutes after half time when Will Grocott fired an unstoppable effort into the top left corner from the edge of the penalty area following a counter attack.

The home side equalised on 61 minutes as Hamp reacted quickest to head a loose ball into the net after Kyle Barnett’s initial looping header came back off the crossbar.

However, just one minute after drawing level, Willis received a straight red card for a strong challenge on Bedworth’s Martin.

Warwick reclaimed the lead on 74 minutes when Hamp laid the ball into the path of Coyle who drilled a low shot into the bottom left corner from 12-yards out.

And Coyle sealed the points for the Racers three minutes into injury time from the penalty spot after Elliot Parrott fouled the scorer in the box.

Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Loughborough Students on Saturday, January 25 with kick-off at 3pm at the Loughborough University Stadium.
