RACING Club Warwick clinched a play-off spot on the final day of the season with a 2-0 home victory against St Neots Town.

Late goals from Archie Hamp and James Harding helped the Racers secure a top-five finish at Townsend Meadow.

The Racers needed to better the result of play-off rivals Coleshill Town with the latter side only able to draw away at AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

Warwick clinched a fifth-place finish in the Northern Premier League Midlands table and will face runners-up Carlton Town in the play-offs.

Already-relegated St Neots frustrated the Racers for long periods before Hamp broke the deadlock on 80 minutes forced the ball over the line following a corner from the left.

And the home side sealed the points in the final minute when Harding pounced on a loose touch to race through on goal and kept his cool to round the goalkeeper and finish past a defender on the line.

Racing Club Warwick travel to Carlton in the play-off semi-finals on Tuesday, April 28 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Bill Stokeld Stadium.
