ARCHIE Hamp scored a brace as Racing Club Warwick returned to winning ways with a 3-2 victory against Corby Town.

Hamp put the Racers ahead inside 60 seconds only for Tyrone Lewthwaite to draw the visitors level soon after at Townsend Meadow.

However, James Harding restored Warwick’s lead before the break and Hamp netted just before the hour mark to put the hosts in command.

A late goal from Jack Noble set up a grandstand finish as the Racers held firm to return to winning ways.

And the result means Warwick sit 13th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.

The Racers made a blistering start as Hamp drove into the penalty area and fired a low shot into the bottom right corner inside the first minute.

However, the visitors equalised on nine minutes when Lewthwaite headed a cross from the right back across goal and into the bottom right corner from six-yards out.

Warwick reclaimed the lead four minutes before half time as Harding pounced on a defensive mix-up to turn a loose ball into an empty net from the edge of the penalty area.

And Hamp doubled his tally for the game on 56 minutes when he lashed a sensational half-volley past Jake Laban from 20-yards out from James Hanocks’ lofted through ball.

Corby reduced the deficit on 75 minutes as Noble followed up to find the net after Alex Worley cleared an initial shot off the line.

Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Belper Town on Saturday, October 25 with kick-off at 3pm at Townsend Meadow.
