RACING Club Warwick returned to winning ways following a 2-0 home victory against Wellingborough Town.

Goals in either half from Andre Williams and Kyle Barnett at Townsend Meadow saw the Racers end their two-game losing run.

The result means Warwick sit 11th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.

The two teams came together for a minute’s applause in memory of former Racing kitman Keith Billington prior to kick-off.

Billington died last week and held almost every position at the club over many decades.

The Racers broke the deadlock on 34 minutes when Williams nodded Cameron Ebbutt’s precise cross from the right into the bottom right corner from six-yards out.

And the home side doubled their lead on 63 minutes as Barnett finished Williams’ ball in from the right from close range after Wellingborough failed to clear their lines at a free-kick.

Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Hinckley LRFC on Tuesday, February 18 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Leicester Road Stadium.
