RACING Club Warwick saw their play-off hopes fade following an Easter Monday defeat at league leaders Anstey Nomads.
The Racers slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Cropston Road as goals either side of half time from Courey Grantham and Luis Rose condemned Warwick to defeat.
That came after Warwick drew 1-1 against Shepshed Dynamo at Townsend Meadow as James Harding netted a last-minute equaliser for the home side.
The result means the Racers sit ninth in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, six points outside of the play-off places with three matches left to play.
Warwick failed to halt title-chasing Anstey’s momentum on Easter Monday as the league leaders racked up an eighth successive league victory.
The Racers fell behind on 38 minutes when Grantham’s flying header from six-yards out bounced into the net via the underside of the crossbar.
And the home side doubled their lead in the final minute as Rose placed a low shot past Tom Allsopp from just inside the penalty area.
That came after Warwick rescued a point against Shepshed as the Racers played out a third one-all draw in four matches.
Dynamo broke the deadlock four minutes after half time when Chad Timson lashed a first time effort into the bottom left corner following a long throw into the box.
However, the Racers snatched a point at the death as Harding produced a clinical finish on the turn into the bottom left corner from James Hancocks’ header.
Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Coleshill Town on Saturday, April 11 with kick-off at 3pm at Townsend Meadow.
