RACING Club Warwick suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat away at Bourne Town with the club still in the relegation zone.

The Racers lost for the fourth time in a row in the league at Abbey Lawn following a run of four successive cup fixtures.

And the result means Warwick sit 21st in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, three points from safety but with at least one game in-hand on the teams above them.

Bourne broke the deadlock on 36 minutes when Jordan O’Brien pounced to finish a loose ball after Sam Lomax could only parry an initial effort into the scorer’s path.

And the home side doubled their lead six minutes later as O’Brien beat the offside trap and lobbed the ball beyond Lomax from just outside the penalty area.

O’Brien completed his hat-trick on 74 minutes when he lashed a shot through the glove of Lomax.

The home side completed the scoring in the final minute as Tom Siddons cooly finished past Lomax when one-on-one after Bourne caught Cameron Ebbutt in possession.

Racing Club Warwick are next in action against Rugby Town on Tuesday, September 23 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Townsend Meadow.
