CALLY Stewart scored a brace as Leamington returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win against Southport.
Stewart netted either side of Keenan Quansah’s red card for Southport after Rob Evans opened the scoring at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
And the result means Leamington sit eighth in the National League North table, outside of the play-off places on goals scored.
The Brakes broke the deadlock on 24 minutes when Henry Landers delivered a corner from the left which Evans met with a bullet header from close range to put the home side ahead.
And Leamington doubled their lead three minutes after the break as Stewart slammed the ball home at the back post from another Landers corner.
Paul Holleran’s men won a penalty just past the hour mark with Southport’s Quansah, brother of Liverpool defender Jarell, shown a second yellow card after he pulled back Stewart inside the box.
And Stewart stepped up to send Southport goalkeeper Chris Renshaw the wrong way from the penalty spot and score his ninth goal of the season.
Leamington are next in action away at King’s Lynn Town on Saturday, October 26 with kick-off at 3pm at The Walks.
