CAPTAIN Rajinder Singh Bhatti and Adrian Passey both hit half-centuries to guide Warwick to a straightforward 106-run victory at Knowle and Dorridge Thirds.
The result lifts Warwick up to fourth in the Warwickshire County Cricket League Division Five table, in a win that always looked likely after achieving a first innings total of 248-9.
Graeme Burke (45) and Passey (51) put on a first-wicket partnership of 78 before the former was bowled by Ben Ollerenshaw, whilst young prospect James Sood (35) helped add a further 45 runs with Warwick opener.
Bhatti’s introduction in the middle order helped his side’s fortunes with the bat further, adding 56 overall whilst forming a partnership of 59 with Joe Evans (17).
The Warwick top-scorer was gone by the eighth wicket, as the visitors finished on 248-9.
K&D’s batsmen were kept relatively quiet by the Warwick bowlers, with Amir Khan (12) being caught and bowled by Michael Hope, followed shortly after by Shaun Barnett (21) – who was bowled by Bhatti (3-19)
Sam Wyles (4) was the next victim for Bhatti, whilst the dangerous Jamie Hughes (15) was caught at slip by Richard Rudnicki.
Ollerenshaw came in as a late talisman for Knowle & Dorridge, hitting 45, with Bhatti claiming his third and final wicket to end K&D’s innings on 142 in the 41st over.
Warwick next host in-form Nuneaton Seconds on Saturday (12.30pm).
