SPA Striders were out in force last Sunday for the rescheduled Warwick Half Marathon.
Clare Hinton (1:31:49) led the ladies home with a confidence-boosting performance, showing promise for a return to her previous best.
She was followed by Melissa Venables (1:37:51), Carolyn Wilkinson (1:39:17), Ruth Tennant (1:50:49), Amanda Wiggins (1:51:04), Sandra Stokes (1:57:44), Frances Parkes (1:58:47), Emily Tudge (2:00:15, 10-minute PB), Jo Fleming (2:02:50), Kathleen Mccann (2:08:15), Hazel Mann (2:11:40), Tanya Brittain (2:22:44), Natalie Dellar (2:23:31), and Helen Pugh as an official pacer for 2:30.
The men were led home by Chris Liddle finishing in 15th place with a three minute PB (1:23:00).
He was followed by Sunny Dhesi (1:23:16), Mike Pugh in 20th place (1:24:04), Pete Teevan in a PB and debut sub-90mins performance (1:28:35).
The squad was completed by Josh Layton (1:30:29), Dexter Teale (1:32:28), Chris Wilson (1:33.34), Simon Ludford (1:34:23, PB), Rich Sykes (1:35:04), Rob Thompson (1:35:28), Steve Hession (1:35:36), Rob Mantell (1:40:17), Rob Egan (1:41:55), Simon White (1:45:16), Ian Davis (1:45:32), Ben Cohen (1:50:47), Eugene Mcnally (1:54:50, PB), Dave McNamara (1:57:52), Billy Morton (2:02:04), Matt Leydon (2:08:15) and Doug Rattray (2:11:42).
The Spring marathon season kicked off with Chris McKeown completing the Paris Marathon in 2:58:31.
After a winter of training in cold and snow, the warm conditions proved challenging.
Ten Striders completed the Greater Manchester Marathon.
They were led home in style by Ian Allen (2:58:42) and Keith Wilson (3:03:13, PB).
There were very strong performances from Andy Roach (3:35:29), Katherine Lambeth (3:45:30), Dave Lindsay (3:46:45), Mike Cox (3:49:20), Iain Mcarthur (3:57:58), Mairi Walker in (3:58:17), Dave Lithgow (4:19:37) and Gary Perkins with a new 17 minute PB (4:46:28).
Meanwhile, Gethyn Friswell (1:32:59) completed the Sheffield Half Marathon and Lloyd Harriman completed the UK Wife carrying contest in Dorking.
