HITMAN Danico Johnson has made the move to Racing Club Warwick in the wake of the Racers’ 2-0 defeat to Sporting Khalsa.
The 24-year-old, who started the season at Alvechurch with dual registration at Romulus, makes the move having also turned out for Step Three side Redditch and Rugby Town, where he finished as top scorer last season.
It adds a much-needed boost to Scott Easterlow’s forward line, who were struggling to find the net in Saturday’s defeat in Midland League Premier Division.
Josh McKenzie’s double moved Khalsa back to the top of the league, notching his first on the stroke of half-time after eventually getting the better of Racers keeper Charlie Bannister.
Debutant Harry Holloway almost levelled when meeting Danny Fraser’s cross from the left on the stretch, but he was only able to divert the ball over the bar.
McKenzie punished the miss four minutes into the second half with another simple finish, and Warwick’s forwards were unable to find a reply.
Racing Club Warwick visit Coventry United on Saturday (3pm).
