KENILWORTH Ladies have announced plans to bolster their ranks ahead of a potential place in the Championship Midlands 2 division for the 2019/20 campaign.
The club were formed just three years ago and had a successful 2018 after gaining promotion, whilst also reaching the final of the Intermediate Cup.
A strong start to the current campaign has already witnessed victories over local rivals Old Leamingtonians and Norfolk side Wymondham Wasps, currently standing in sixth position in the league and securing seven bonus points following narrow victories to well-established Championship sides.
The remainder of the season for Kenilworth gets underway as they host Lichfield IIs at Glasshouse Lane this Sunday.
Speaking on the growth of the side, Kenilworth Ladies’ Chairwoman Caroline Spence said: “2018 was a fantastic year for the Ladies team at Kenilworth.
“Having settled into our new league we are really looking forward to the rest of the season as we look to finish on a high by securing our place playing Championship-level rugby for 2019/20.”
The club are actively urging any players of any ability to compete in the Development XV in friendly matches throughout 2019, with training sessions held on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7pm at Glasshouse Lane (CV8 2AJ).
