LEAMINGTON got back to winning ways with a comprehensive, second-half demolition of hosts Pinley to record a 48-0 victory in Midlands Two West (South) last weekend.
It had been pointless at half-time, after a first period of wasted opportunities, but Leamington came out for the second half a different side; keen to work for each other, carrying the ball better and keeping possession through the phases.
The result was a try feast, via Louis Harvey (2), Craig Smith, Matt Homan, Iain Cameron and Stu Campbell, the latter’s first for the 1st XV.
Jim Robertson came off the bench to make a big impact, scoring one try and adding the kicks to ramp up this big score. The match also included a welcome return to rugby for Leamington stalwart, Nick Maxwell, after a three year lay-off.
Leamington, who move up to fourth from bottom in the table, are at home to Silhillians on Saturday.
