Lewis Williams to bring Commonwealth gold medal back to Leamington in celebration event at Jephson Gardens

LEWIS Williams has set his sights on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after winning Commonwealth Gold for Team England last weekend.

The Leamington fighter stormed to gold at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and will be bringing the medal back to his hometown.

Williams will showcase his gold medal at the scenic Jephson Gardens on Wednesday, August 17 with the event set to run from 5pm to 9pm.

Williams said: “It’s massive coming from a boxing town [Leamington Spa] and to see the local crowd and get a good support from everybody who has been able to come over to the venue and watch me fight.

“I do feel the pressure but I do add pressure to myself which is to be expected but all the hard work has now paid off with a gold.

“I’m keen to get back in the gym and prep for the next fight – Paris Olympics here we come.

“I’m also looking forward to getting back to Leamington as Clearys Boxing Gym and the PR team have organised a bringing home the gold event at Jephson Gardens on the 17th August.”

Fans are welcome to come and celebrate with Williams with photo opportunities available with the heavyweight fighter..
