BOXING: PROMISING young fighter Sonny Nijjar lost on split decision to A.Morris on a split decision in Birmingham at the weekend.
Following four skills bouts, Nijjar started slower than Morris as the home favourite won the opening two rounds.
The Leamington youngster stepped up his game for the third though and delivered a series of jabs that connected with the body.
Nijjer left it too late though as Morris landed victory.
Elsewhere Joey O’Neill took part in his first skills bout at Banbury ABC on Saturday against J Kawba of London.
Both fighters showed promising signs with Joey in particular showing good footwork and using reach to his advantage.
