OLD Leamingtonians Rugby Club’s walking rugby team triumphed at a festival held at the home of English rugby – Twickenham Stadium.

The club won three and drew one of their four matches to claim overall victory at the first tournament to take place before an international fixture.

And the team, along with nine other competing clubs, acted as flag bearers on the pitch during the national anthems prior to England’s match against Fiji.

Walking rugby is a game open to all ages and abilities with the aim to give people a different fitness activity which is non-contact but still energetic.

Old Leamingtonians already boast a thriving walking rugby section and hope players who are no longer able to play contact or touch rugby will join the club’s walking side.

Sessions take place on Wednesday evening’s from 6.45pm to 8pm at the club’s Crofts ground on Bericote Road.
