LEAMINGTON and Warwick Pickleball Club members formed part of a Warwickshire team in a tournament against Shropshire.
The club, set up in September last year, already has more than 50 members, playing one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.
Pickleball, which originated in the United States of America, is a paddle sport which combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis.
Played on a court similar in size to a badminton doubles court with a slightly modified tennis net the sport can take place either indoors or outdoors.
Competitors use a solid paddle and a plastic ball with holes in.
And four players from the club joined together with members from Rugby and Stratford to form a Warwickshire team in a friendly rally 21 tournament against Shropshire.
Shropshire won the game overall by a score of 2788-2694 although Warwickshire held their own against much more experienced players.
Leamington and Warwick meet twice a week at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre in Warwick.
