A FOOTBALL tournament set up in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association takes place at Racing Club Warwick’s home ground next week.
The Railway Football Tournament has been organised by Gary Smith and will be played on Thursday, September 29 with the action to begin at 10am at Townsend Meadow.
And a whopping 18 teams have registered to play in the tournament with a total of 165 players set to take part – each paying £10 to the MND Association.
Of those teams, 16 are from Network Rail with one from Avanti West Coast and one submitted by a director from Warwick County Council.
Teams and officials are travelling from around the country including Liverpool, Rugby, Northampton, Derby, Birmingham, York, Sheffield, Reading, Crewe, Paddington, Bedford, Peterborough, Hitchin, Cardiff and Llandudno
And a number of the teams are likely to stay overnight in the town of Warwick.
The MND Association is a charity focused on improving access to care, research and campaigning for people affected by motor neurone disease.
