LOUIS HARVEY scored a hat-trick of tries as Leamington RFC finished their home campaign with a 29-14 win against Spartans.
Harvey’s hat-trick and a first-half try from Rich McKowen set Leamington on their way to victory with James Dunne adding nine points from the kicking tee.
The result means Leamington sit ninth in the Midlands 2 West (South) table with one league fixture left to play.
Harvey opened the scoring when he forced his way over in the corner after some quality handling in the Leamington back line.
And the home side crossed again when centre McKowen broke through the Spartans defence and skipped over under the posts with Dunne quickly slotting the conversion.
However, Spartans reduced the deficit when they crashed over for a converted score after carving through the Leamington defence.
And the visitors took the lead in the second period after some sustained pressure on the Leamington line led to a penalty try.
The hosts regrouped quickly as McKowen, Toby Bruce and Gareth Shuttleworth all went close before Dunne kicked a penalty to hand Leamington a slender advantage.
And Harvey then pounced on a fumble in the Spartans ranks to race away to the line and finish in the corner with Dunne nailing the touchline conversion.
The home side made sure of the points when Harvey showed his electric pace once again to burst through the Spartans defence and complete his treble with Dunne adding the extras.
Leamington finish their league season away at Nuneaton Old Edwardians on Saturday, April 23 with kick-off at 3pm at Weddington Road.
