KENILWORTH RFC remain rooted to the bottom of the table following a 64-22 home defeat against Bridgnorth.

Tries from Javier Teu-Blanco, Adam Collingwood, Ted Bromwich and Bobby Thompson ensured the home side came away with a bonus point at Glasshouse Lane.

The result means Kenilworth sit bottom of the Regional 1 Midlands table having lost all seven of their league matches this season.

Bridgnorth broke the deadlock with a converted try on the quarter-hour mark from a lineout drive before a similar move saw the visitors double their advantage.

Kenilworth showed resilience to keep themselves in the game before Bridgnorth scored their third try from the blindside.

The home side’s indiscipline allowed Bridgnorth to remain on top before Harry Kaufman received a yellow card after the visitors crossed for their bonus point try.

Bridgnorth racked up 40 points in a dominant first half display before Teu-Blanco scored Kenilworth’s first try from a driving maul.

After the break, Kenilworth struck again as Collingwood charged down a kick and picked up the loose ball to dot down.

The two teams traded tries soon after as Bridgnorth touched down in the corner while Bromwich scored for Kenilworth from a driving maul following a lineout.

Bridgnorth crossed twice more to add some gloss to the scoreline before Kenilworth secured a bonus point when Thompson touched down the home side’s fourth try of the match and Will Morgan converted.

The visitors had the last laugh, scoring the game’s final try from yet another driving maul.

Kenilworth are next in action against Banbury on Saturday, November 9 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Bodicote Park.
