KENILWORTH RFC are still awaiting their first win of the season after losing 66-7 away at Dudley Kingswinford in their first game of the New Year.

The away side’s only try came courtesy of Ed Hannam as the visitors suffered a 13th straight defeat at Heathbrook.

And the result means Kenilworth remain bottom of the Regional 1 Midlands table.

Dudley scored the game’s first try as Peter Griffiths dotted down following a period of sustained pressure on the Kenilworth line.

And after Ben Rowley scored the home side’s second try, Dudley crossed four more times before the break.

Griffiths completed his hat-trick with two further tries while Stefan Shillingford and Alex Deery also touched down.

Kenilworth showed resilience to trouble the scoreboard before the interval as Hannam dived over to dot down as the visitors went into the break trailing by 31 points.

Dudley ran in five tries in the second period as Thomas Walker crossed for a hat-trick while Shillingford and Griffiths added to their respective tallies.

Kenilworth are next in action against Stourbridge on Saturday, January 25 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Glasshouse Lane.
