KENILWORTH RFC are still searching for their first league win of the season following a 50-17 defeat against league leaders Syston.
Tries from Adam Collingwood, Harry Bowser and Bobby Thompson proved in vain for the home side at Glasshouse Lane.
The result means Kenilworth remain bottom of the Regional 1 Midlands table, having lost all nine of their matches so far this season.
Syston winger Micaal McFarlane sustained a nasty injury from kick-off as he suffered a dislocated ankle which led to a lengthy injury delay.
Following the restart, Kenilworth scored the game’s first try as Collingwod made the most of a number of quick rucks to dot down and John Lowden kicked the extras.
The visitors responded with a try of their own courtesy of Morgan Wayte-McPherson before Matthew Steward touched down the away side’s second try.
And Syston took control of the game when Jamie Skerritt crossed only for Bowser to finish in the corner for Kenilworth before the break to cut the deficit to five points.
Skerritt dotted down again for Syston after the break as the visitors scored several further tries to take the game away from the home side.
The hosts scored a consolation try when Thompson touched down from a driving maul following a spell of extended pressure on the Syston line with the visitors also temporarily reduced to 14 players.
Syston ran in more tries in the closing stages to add some gloss to the scoreline which included an intercept score late on.
Kenilworth are next in action against Nuneaton on Saturday, November 30 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Liberty Way.
