KENILWORTH RFC are holding a free under-12 girls’ rugby taster session next month.

The taster session will take place on Wednesday, April 9 from 6pm to 7pm at the club’s Glasshouse Lane home.

The session is open to all girls currently in year six who are moving into year seven in September.

Kenilworth boasts an under-18 girls’ team and a women’s side competing in the RFU Championship.

Kenilworth’s under-12 coach, Philippa Rawbone-Stephens said: “There’s never been a more exciting time for girls to get into rugby.

“The buzz around the Women’s Six Nations is incredible, and we’re seeing more and more young players wanting to get involved.

“This taster session is a fantastic opportunity for girls about to start secondary school to give rugby a go in a fun, friendly setting.

“We can’t wait to welcome them to the club and help them start their rugby journey.”

Experienced RFU-qualified coaches with Premiership playing experience will lead the session.

For any girls interested in taking part, no previous rugby experience or special equipment is required.

Girls must wear comfortable sports clothing and turn up ready to play.

Players are encouraged to bring a friend and experience the sport together.
