A PAIR of players from Old Leamingtonians RFC have received call-ups to England Touch’s under-15 training squad.
Old Leamingtonians duo Max Bartlett and Hamish McGregor, from the club’s under-14’s and mavericks touch section, both hope to earn their respective places in the final squad.
England Touch will compete in the Atlantic Cup in Limerick, Ireland in July/August later this year.
Mavericks touch coach Paul Farrington said: “The inaugural season of the OLRFC mavericks junior touch rugby section has been a resounding success.
“Weekly Thursday night sessions consistently attracted over 30 young players from April to September, providing them with an excellent opportunity to stay fit and active during the off-season from contact rugby and introducing non-contact players to the club.
“The selection of Max and Hamish for England Touch is a remarkable achievement and a testament to their dedication and the high-quality coaching within our section. We congratulate them and wish them the very best of luck in their pursuit of a place on the final squad.”
Alongside Max and Hamish, OL’s player James McComisky was selected for the regional West Wildcats under-14s team.
Old Leamingtonians will host the National Junior Touch Cup and various England Touch events at The Crofts in 2025.
