STRUGGLING Kenilworth RFC failed to halt their long losing run following a 52-7 defeat at home to Burton.
Kenilworth’s only try came courtesy of Iestyn Thomas at Glasshouse Lane as the home side suffered a 16th straight defeat in the league.
The result means Kenilworth remain bottom of the Regional 1 Midlands table.
Burton scored the game’s first try as Riley Cassidy dotted down following sustained pressure on the Kenilworth line.
However, the hosts defended well thereafter only for Burton to cross for their second try on the stroke of half time.
The game opened up after the break as Kenilworth threatened to reduce the deficit.
However, Burton turned the ball over to score a breakaway try as Cassidy dotted down his second of the game.
Burton ran in three further tries to take the game away from Kenilworth as Cassidy completed his hat-trick.
Kenilworth scored their only try with six minutes left to play as Thomas started and finished a flowing move with Rob Holden adding the extras.
However, Burton scored two further tries in the remaining minutes to add some gloss to the scoreline.
Kenilworth are next in action against Banbury on Saturday, February 15 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Glasshouse Lane.
