THE HOLLAND Cup was contested at Warwick Golf Club at the weekend and a closely fought finish proved exciting for the competitors.
Steve Slack enjoyed a very close win by beating Graham Harrington on countback.
In this strokeplay competition, both had a nett 68, with Slack carding 82-14 for 68 and Harrington 81-13. In third place was Pete Hall with 93-24=69.
Pete Holland was the first captain of Warwick Golf Club when the event was re-instated in 1971. The club has been in existence since 1886 and is considered the oldest golf club in Warwickshire.
