Spa Striders compete in latest Warwickshire Road Race League event

RUNNING: NORTHBROOK hosted the latest Warwickshire Road Race League event, a 10k race around Allesley in warm conditions.

Pete Soley (36:23) led the men home for Spa Striders, followed by Ste Taylor (37:15), Adam Notley (38:12), Simon Parsons (41:10), Robert Mantell (41:46) and Juan Martin (42:36) to round off the scoring team.

Melissa Venables continued her fine racing form by leading the ladies home in 41mins 09secs.

She was followed home by Kate Gadsby (43:59), Carolyn Wilkinson (44:25) and Clare Hinton (44:34) to complete the scoring ladies team.




Elsewhere Draycote Water provided the setting for the ‘Seven at Severn’ 7km race on Friday evening.

Striders were represented by Zoe Beale (35:57), Julie Heaton (36:49), Kevin Pantling (38:18) and Gary Perkins (41:07).


Up north, Rich Sykes completed the Scafell Pike Trail Marathon in just under six hours, placing sixth overall, while Andrew Bonjour and Amanda Wiggins celebrated double personal best efforts at the Jersey Olympic Triathlon.
