LEAMINGTON Royals are seeking to continue their unbeaten start at the halfway point of the Optasia Squash Super League (SSL).
The Royals make the long trip to St George’s Hill Knights for their third game of the season on Friday, February 14.
The Valentine’s Day match-up pits the two unbeaten sides against each other.
Leamington, the 2024 national club squash champions, drew their first fixture against Coolhurst Cavaliers before beating Bristol Buccaneers in their first-ever home game.
The Knights have drawn both of their games against Bexley Ballers and league leaders Chichester Centurions respectively.
Leading the charge for the Royals is Declan James in the men’s professional game against Charlie Lee.
The ladies professional match sees Japan’s number one Satomi Watanabe take on St George’s Jas Hutton.
Watanabe is unbeaten in the SSL this season while Hutton is England’s number two.
The under-25 rubbers sees Ben Smith make his Royals debut against Will Salter.
And completing the line-up is Leamington club hero and team captain Owain Taylor against St George’s Miles Jenkins.
Royals team manager and head coach, Jason Pike said: “We’re really looking forward to our Valentine’s Day trip to St George’s, it’s a great venue and there are some great match-ups.
“Looking at rankings, you’d say we are probably slight favourites but looks can be deceptive.
“Charlie and Miles have not been on the pro circuit for a bit, so their rankings don’t reflect their ability, and we know we are in for a tough one and to expect a noisy reception.
“Anything can happen in best of three. Hopefully, we can retain our unbeaten record as we reach halfway in the league pool.”
