LEAMINGTON Lawn Tennis and Squash Club’s (LLTSC) men’s team became national champions for the first time in their history following a thrilling final in Sheffield.
LLTSC defeated a strong Surbiton team in a dramatic final on points countback at Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club.
Leamington’s triumph means they will now compete in the 35th ESF European Squash Club Championships at the Roehampton Club in London from September 4 to 7.
The squad for the Championships includes Declan James, Owain Taylor, Omar El Torkey, Rory Richmond, Jason Pike and Howard Lancashire.
Leamington will battle it out against 12 other clubs from across Europe for the title.
Club member Dan Bradbury covered the team’s expenses for the National Club Championships and will also cover expenses for the European Squash Club Championships.
