Steve Cox leads the way at Kenilworth Golf Club

STEVE COX took the top honours in the September Medal at Kenilworth Golf Club on Saturday.

Cox carded an impressive 74, nett 65, to finish top of Division A from Mark Newbold 77, nett 67.

Iain Wallace enjoyed no fewer than four birdies on his way to posting 75, nett 64, which secured success in Division B from Trevor Lammy 77, nett 65, while Ken Pavey 86, nett 70, triumphed in Division C from Graham Morgan 87, nett 71.

Adrian Riddell claimed the best gross prize with a one under par 70 and the Rabbitt’s Chalice, which was run in conjunction with the Medal for players with handicaps from 19 to 28, was won by Peter Minshaw 95, nett 71.




Phil and James Heaton, teamed up to win the Generation Plate at Crewe Lane on Sunday.

The father and son pairing scored 41 points to edge out Lesley Cheslin and James Leggitt 40.


Previously, in-form Achawin Saiyai won the midweek August Extra Medal with 41 points from Chris Peake 38, while Terry Martin came out on top in Division B with 40 points from president Mike Hastings 38.

Meanwhile, popular member Phil Hall celebrated his first hole-in-one during a social round on the 140-yard 7th.
