RUGBY Swimming Club’s artistic swimmers showcased their talents to come away with another flurry of medals at the Midlands and Masters Championships.
The team produced a fine overall performance to claim another haul of medals and further elevate the club’s status on the national stage.
Eve Young won two gold medals with top scores in the technical solo and free solo events and is a joint member at Rugby along with Bramcote Artistic Swimming Club.
And Rugby’s technical team delivered a fantastic swim to finish first as Lola Dudkowsky, Olivia Tyers, Young, Charlie Putt, Lili Carroll, Poppy Williams, India Townsend and Matilda John used their experience to top the standings.
The club’s free team of Dudkowsky, Tyers, Young, Putt, Carroll, Townsend, Bethany Clarke and Williams impressed to place second in their event.
And the free team of Olivia Eaves, Ariane Sargent, Jagoda Czuplak, Edith John, Amy Buckley, Jess Barrett-Leafe and Natalia Rodrigues placed fifth.
The swimmers of the meet were awarded to Dudkowsky for her positive influence on the team as she brought the group together and Rebecca Harper for her contribution to the team and approach to handling last minute changes to the routine.
In the Masters’ duet event, Sargent and Czuplak excelled with their routine to come away with silver whilst Sandra Anstruther and Julie Bowler-Smith just missed out on a medal in fourth.
And in the free solo event, Annette Parker also placed fourth with a fabulous performance in the pool.
The Masters’ combination squad swam a well executed and clean routine to just miss out on a medal as Anstruther, Bowler-Smith, Parker, Joyce Williams, Cathy Reekie and Alison Richardson all swam well.
